The UK gas system has opened 20mcm short this morning, according to npower’s daily market report.
This has caused power and gas prices to open slightly higher.
BBL flows are nominated lower today at 7mcm.
Sarah Astley from npower’s optimisation desk said: “Langeled nominations are also a touch lower this morning at 9mcm.
“It is expected these levels will continue until maintenance ends at the end of the month.”
The peak power margin is forecast at 13GW.
CCGT remains the dominant fuel source, currently contributing 38% of the stack.
Ms Astley added wind generation is “relatively subdued” at 2GW and is expected to drop this afternoon.
Oil remains steady at $64 a barrel (£40/Bbl). Ms Astley said: “Any move upwards has been capped today by forecast of a higher US shale output this year.”
