UK and Malaysian businesses are being invited to apply for a share of £14.4 million for projects which address the impact of climate change in the south east Asian country.

The competition aims to bring together businesses and research organisations as well as academics, public sector bodies and charities from both countries to develop innovative products.

The projects must show they will have a positive impact on both economic development and social welfare in Malaysia.

They must target the Malaysian market and address critical challenges in five sectors such as health and well-being, improving environmental resilience and energy security.

Innovate UK, Research Councils UK and the Malaysia Industry-Government Group for High Technology are providing the funding.
