A Scottish company has won DONG’s order for offshore wind farms in the UK and Northern Europe.

Briggs Group will repair and deliver cables to the Danish firm’s wind projects for eight years.

The order includes nine wind farms in the UK, five in Denmark and four in Germany.

The Fife-based company started working with Denmark’s largest energy company in 2014 offering an interim repair capability for their UK wind farms, DONG said.

Benj Sykes, Vice President and Head of Asset Management for DONG Energy Wind Power added: “Ensuring that export and array cable issues are quickly resolved is vital to maintaining reliable operation of our wind farms.

“This framework agreement builds on our existing relationship with the Briggs Group and is designed to ensure availability of power and mitigate against any possible production losses.”
