Kazakhstan, the world’s largest supplier of uranium, is to deliver the radiactive fuel to India.

The two nations signed an agreement for Kazakhstan’s nuclear company NAC Kazatomprom to supply 5,000 tonnes of uranium between 2015 and 2019.

Kazatomprom is the national operator of the Republic of Kazakhstan for export of uranium and its compounds, rare metals and nuclear fuel for nuclear power plants.

Kazakhstan is said to be India’s main uranium supplier since 2009.

The last contract to supply uranium to India was completed in December last year.
