RWE Innogy UK’s Wind Control Centre is to offer renewable and cross technology third party services.

Operators will be able to call upon the centre’s expertise from September this year.

Based in Swindon it operates 24/7 and provides wind farm monitoring and remote trouble shooting services.

In 2014, the team managed more than 1GW of renewable energy facilities across the UK.

Adam Oxley, the Control Centre’s Team Leader, said: “Our role is to monitor our renewable energy facilities and ensure the smooth running of the machines.

“This could be by providing release of plant in accordance with Wind Turbine Safety Rules, issuing severe weather warnings, curtailing sites or SCADA [supervisory control and data acquisition] solutions.”
