More than 73,000 customers switched to smaller suppliers in June.
According to Energy UK, that is more than a quarter – 28% – of all switches above average for the year so far.
It added more than 250,000 customers switched their electricity suppliers last month.
June’s switching figures are higher compared to the same period in 2014 and 2013, stated Energy UK.
Lawrence Slade, Chief Executive of Energy UK said: “Switching numbers are still high even though it’s summer when people may not be thinking so much about their heating bills. Over a quarter of a million people found new deals in June with well over a quarter of those making the switch to smaller suppliers.”
He added 23 tariffs from 18 suppliers offer deals under £1,000 a year.
