The gas system is oversupplied, according to npower’s daily market report.

Norwegian flows are in line with yesterday’s levels.

Gemma Brice from npower’s optimisation desk said: “Langeled [Norwegian pipeline] is nominated at 42mcm.”

LNG send-out “remains stable” at 29mcm following the arrival of a tanker at the South Hook terminal yesterday.

The Interconnector exports are down to 27mcm today from 33mcm yesterday.

Ms Bruce added: “Looking at the power system, margins are more comfortable today at nearly 14GW. This is despite wind generation out-turning more than 1GW below forecast, currently at 1.9GW.”

Solar forecasts remain healthy at 4.4GW. Gas-fired generation is a touch lower, currently making up 35% of the stack and coal generation at 22%.

Imports to the UK continue to be a full capacity from both France and the Netherlands.

Oil is currently trading at $53.15 a barrel (£34/Bbl).

Ms Bruce went on: “On the currency side the pound is steady against the euro after better than expected UK growth yesterday.” The pound is worth €1.4.
