E.ON has announced the completion of a 20MW solar farm in California.

It is the company’s first solar project in the US state.

It has sold the Alamo solar farm, located near the town of Oro Grande, to US company Dominion which will own and operate the facility.

Steve Trenholm, President of E.ON Solar said: “We intend to build more solar projects in California that create jobs as well as clean energy that doesn’t use water in the production of electricity.”

The company has started the construction of another solar farm in California which is expected to start operating later this year.
