A 51MW wind project in South Lanarkshire, Scotland could be expanded under new plans.

The 15-turbine expansion to Kype Muir Wind Farm would increase the total capacity of the project to 139MW.

Banks Renewables, part of the Bank Group, is awaiting a planning decision from the Scottish Government.

Colin Anderson, Development Director at Banks Renewables, said: “The council is clearly appreciative of the positive impact the project would have on the surrounding area and pleasingly it has not sought to change any elements of the detailed plan.”

If approved, construction for the expansion is expected to be completed by 2021.
