Oil company Maersk has warned around 200 jobs could be at risk.
The firm said it is facing “ongoing challenges in the market” and is consulting on a proposed “three weeks on, three weeks off” change in rota.
It expects to implement the changes in the second quarter of 2016.
A spokesperson said: “All options will be explored through consultation to minimise impact on positions but it is possible that an estimated 200 onshore and offshore roles may be affected as a result of the proposals.
“The business will offer as much support throughout the process as possible and remain focused on maintaining safe and reliable operations.”
