The UK gas system is undersupplied, according to npower’s daily market report.
It opened 2mcm short this morning as demand is higher than expected despite temperatures being above seasonal normal levels.
Langeled flows are nominated at 60mcm and LNG send-out is at 40mcm.
Alex Guiot from npower’s Optimisation Desk said: “LNG should remain stable for most of the week with a number of cargoes still to dock in the UK in the early part of the week.”
On the power system, wind is generating at 4GW and is expected to reach 6GW. Solar is forecast above 1GW this afternoon.
Mr Guiot added: “Dutch interconnectors are importing at full capacity but French ones are halved for the moment.”
The pound is recovering after its sharp drop last Friday, according to Mr Guiot, with a pound now worth €1.352.
