Low oil prices have affected jobs, some companies’ budgets and also energy conferences.

Some energy events have been cancelled due to the downturn particularly in the US, the home of the oil and gas.

The ‘2015 Houston Shipping and Offshore Conference’, which was scheduled for  5th October, states on its website it has been cancelled “due to current economic conditions in the shipping & offshore industries.”

Other events such as The Offshore Northern Seas (ONS) conference in Norway and the Pittsburgh NAPE Expo were cancelled this year because of low oil prices which are trading above $45 per barrel down from more than $100 in summer last year.
