Spanish manufacturer Gamesa and the Government of Bahia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to boost renewables in the Brazilian state.

The collaboration aims to promote innovation and skills in the green industry in the region.

Gamesa will train professionals to carry out wind turbine operation and maintenance services.

The agreement also includes the possibility of setting up a wind turbine testing unit associated with a public university in Bahía.

Governor Rui Costa said: “This agreement with Gamesa is an important initiative, particularly for the generation of jobs and wealth and the provision of wind turbine operation and maintenance skills training.”
