A UK subsidiary  of a company that provides subsea services related to offshore construction has been awarded a contract for a 580MW wind project.

DeepOcean will install a total of 91 cables for the project located 17 miles off Blakeney Point on the North Norfolk coast.

The Race Bank offshore wind farm will consist of 91 turbines with a capacity of 6MW each, which are expected to generate enough electricity to power 400,000 homes.

The project is owned by DONG Energy and offshore work is scheduled to start in the third quarter of 2016.
