The gas system has opened oversupplied again this morning, according to npower’s daily market report.

Norwegian flows through the Langeled pipeline are steady at 54mcm.

LNG flows are in line with the last few days and South Hook is expecting two tankers in the next few days.

Alex Guiot from npower’s optimisation desk said: “As expected temperatures are finally below seasonal normal levels but this cold snap will be short lived as no later than next week we should see temperatures above seasonal normal again.”

 

The peak power margin is higher than yesterday at 9.2GW.

Wind is generating 3.4GW but it is expected to increase to 7GW later today. CCGT is providing 33% of the stack and coal is making up 22%.

The Dutch interconnector is importing at full capacity again today and the French one is at its cap level of 1.5GW.

The pound is worth €1.43 and oil is currently trading at $44.26 a barrel (£29/Bbl).
