Power prices are expected to recover this week, according to Inenco’s Y report.
According to Energy Trader Kayleigh Winstanley, customers who are looking to place fixed and flexible price contracts should wait for now.
She added: “We do expect the prices will recover the gains that we’ve seen so far. If they do recover it could be a really good opportunity to make small more hedges on flexible contracts and also a good opportunity to buy those fixed price contracts before we get into those colder winter months.”
Reduced flows from Norway and Holland as well as increased demand let to contracts close to the points of delivery “move up slightly”.
Ms Winstanley said the system is going to be “comfortable” during the week “so those gains “will soon drop off”.
