One in 10 consumers are considering to not use heating this winter due to high energy bills.

Around 54% of them said they will ration their energy use to keep a lid on energy bills, new figures from uSwitch revealed.

That’s an equivalent to 32 million people.

It added, 12% said they would only turn on the heating for special occasions and around 42% would switch it on later than usual.

A total of 2% of consumers believe energy suppliers won’t cut prices this winter and 58% expect electricity and gas prices to rise.
