Kosovo will receive a loan up to €1 million (£0.7m) to support energy efficiency projects in the region.

The Agency for Finance in Kosovo (AFK) is receiving the money from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

It will be part of the Kosovo Sustainable Energy Projects Framework, a €12 million (£8.64m) scheme which was created in response to the growing demand for energy efficiency financing.

Elena Petrovska, EBRD Associate Director, Head of Kosovo said: “We are pleased to see such strong demand for energy efficiency projects in Kosovo. Our financing will increase energy efficiency and take an important step towards reaching climate efficiency targets.”
