The UK gas and power systems are well supplied, according to npower’s daily market report.

On the gas system, the linepack is forecast to close 7mcm oversupplied.

The Rough field is flowing more than 40mcm and Langeled flows are at 70mcm.

Exports through the UK Interconnector are at 10mcm.

On the power side, margins are below 11GW.

CCGT is providing 42% of the stack and the French and Dutch interconnectors are importing at full capacity.

Wind is generating more than 4GW.

Tim Carter from the Optimisation Desk said: “This is expected to drop off into the afternoon, when a triad has been forecas, but will then pick back up again tomorrow.”

Oil is trading under $37 (£24.7) per barrel.
