Power supplier Good Energy has announced it will cut its gas prices by 7.2% from April.

That means savings worth £42 per year on energy bills, the company stated.

However, the reduction will only be applied to customers who are on a standard variable tariff.

Green power supplier Ecotricity is also cutting its gas prices by 7%.

The Big Six companies have also announced price reductions with the last two being EDF Energy and British Gas earlier this week.

Juliet Davenport CEO at Good Energy said: “Our gas price drop beats all the reductions recently announced by the so-called Big Six energy companies.

“Wholesale market prices have been falling and it’s right that our prices for customers should reflect this. This latest drop means our average dual fuel bill is the lowest it has been for at least the last three years and our gas prices are the lowest they’ve ever been.”
