Horizon Nuclear Power has appointed Duncan Hawthorne as its new boss.
He will take over as CEO from May, having spent 15 years as the head of Bruce Power in Canada, a big north American nuclear facilities company. He has been on the Horizon board since 2013, a few months after Hitachi took over the Horizon project from npower.
Mr Hawthorne said: “I am very pleased to be joining this organisation which has ambitious plans for the future and I hope to be able to add my experience in plant operations and leadership to help complement the many talented people who already are part of the Horizon workforce.”
His main task will be to oversee Horizon’s Wylfa Newydd project which once built, should power five million homes.
