The UK gas system is well supplied, according to npower’s daily market report.

The linepack is currently forecast 15mcm long.

That’s because domestic demand has been reduced and outages in Norway have been resolved.

Flows through the Langeled pipeline are at 72mcm and LNG send-out from South Hook is at 36mcm.

Withdrawals from the Rough storage are at 10mcm.

On the power system, the peak margin is more than 8GW.

Tim Carter from the Optimisation Desk said: “Wind is still disappointing albeit an improvement on last week, currently generating around 2GW but is forecast to drop off through today and into tomorrow.”

Brent oil is currently trading at $40.8/bbl (£27.2/bbl).
