The UK gas system is long, according to npower’s daily market report.
Langeled flows through the Norwegian pipeline are at 52mcm.
Alex Guiot from the Optimisation Desk said: “With gas demand being lower on a Friday the linepack remains comfortable.”
Two LNG tankers are expected to arrive in the UK next week.
On the power system, the peak margin is at 15GW as wind is generating 3.3GW and is expected to reach 5.2GW later today.
CCGT generation is providing 44% of the energy mix, coal 8.5% and the Dutch and French interconnectors are importing at full capacity.
Brent oil is trading above $40/bbl (£27.6/bbl).
Mr Guiot added: “That’s ahead of the OPEC’s producer meeting to be held in Doha on the production freeze. Even though Iran has already announced they will not agree to any ceiling, the announcement of the meeting has been enough to support prices.”
