DONG Energy closed its initial public offering (IPO) to smaller investors yesterday, it was originally scheduled to close today.

In May, the Danish energy giant announced plans to launch an IPO of its shares on Nasdaq Copenhagen estimating the operation could value the firm between £8.35 billion and £10.6 billion.

The firm said the early close of the offer for retail investors for orders up to DKK 3 million (£0.3m) was because demand from investors exceeded what it expected.

The Offering to investors with orders exceeding that threshold closes today and the company expects to publish information about the result of it, including final offer price on Thursday.
