The UK’s power margin is tighter today, according to npower’s market report.
The peak is forecast at more than 10GW and wind is generating below 1GW.
Gas-fired generation remains high and the Dutch and French interconnectors are importing at full capacity.
Gemma Bruce from the Optimisation Desk said: “We are unable to see the system linepack this morning as National Grid is working to fully restore normal data flows following the implementation of their new systems over the weekend. However gas system supply is seen at 170mcm/day against a forecast demand of 155mcm/day.”
Brent oil is trading at $43.4/bbl (£32.5/bbl).
