The UK gas system is expected to close 2mcm long, according to npower’s daily market report.
Flows from the Bacton Terminal have increased compared to yesterday.
Nicholas Morgan from the Optimisation Desk said: “Gas is a little firmer though, following the Brent firmness over night, on Saudi Arabia Energy Minister’s earlier statement. In the statement Khalid Al-Falih suggested informal OPEC talks next month could lead to the implementation of market stabilisation measures.”
Brent oil is trading at $46.07/bbl (£35.47/bbl).
On the power system, demand is softer reaching 29GW.
Solar generation is expected to reach 3.2GW while wind is forecast to peak 6.8GW later today.
CCGT is providing 44% of mix and nuclear 26%.
The French and Dutch interconnectors are importing at full capacity.
