The licence to own and operate an offshore transmission link to a 219MW wind farm has been granted.
Balfour Beatty Equitix Consortium, which comprises Balfour Beatty Investments and Equitix, will operate the £160 million high voltage link to the Humber Gateway offshore wind farm for the next 20 years.
The company was selected by Ofgem last year following a tender process.
The Humber Gateway wind farm, located in the North Sea, has 73 wind turbines. The transmission assets for it were constructed by E.ON.
