Andrew Buglass has been developing and financing energy projects since 1992 – delivering investments valued in excess of £11bn in over 30 countries.

This included senior roles with PowerGen plc and Unocal Corporation, among others. From 2009 to 2014, Andrew ran Royal Bank of Scotland’s energy finance team in London, and re-established it as the leading lender to the UK renewables sector 2011-13.

At the end of 2014, Andrew established Buglass Energy Advisory, a consulting practice which provides strategic and commercial advice to investors in the electricity sector – helping them deliver low carbon projects and emergent technologies.

Clients are typically independent developers seeking to grow existing businesses, or bring innovative technologies or services to market.

Andrew is a regular expert contributor to government and industry groups on policy and financing issues. Much of this work has been in his role as Co-Chair of the Low Carbon Finance Group. In addition, he holds a number of other advisory and non executive roles, including a recent appointment as Special Adviser to the Energy & Climate Change Select Committee to support their inquiry into investor confidence.
