The UK gas system is forecast to close 0.5mcm short.

Sam Hill from the Optimisation Desk said: “Demand on the gas system continues to be below seasonal averages with reduced UK Interconnector exports and less pressure from gas fired power generation.”

Flows from the Norwegian Skarv and Kristin fields have been reduced by 18mcm however there has been little effect on the UK system.

South Hook send-out is at 28mcm and some comfortable flows through the St Fergus terminal are supporting the system.

On the power side, the peak margin is expected to be 11GW.

Wind is generating 15% of the mix at 5GW and is expected to reach 7GW, CCGT is producing 15GW making up 47% of the stack.

The Dutch interconnector is importing at full capacity whilst continued disruption sees the French interconnector importing at 10% capacity.

Brent oil is currently trading at $48.59/bbl (£36.9/bbl) following OPEC’s news to limit output.

The pound is valued at €1.16.
