We are working with one of Europe’s leading Energy providers within their UK trading team/
Working in parallel with Senior Specialists and Team Managers within the Forward Market, Short term optimisation, Back Office, and Commodity Optimisation teams, you’ll deliver risk mitigation to manage a £5 billion per annum portfolio.
Essential skills:
- Degree in numerical or economic discipline
- Experience in the UK energy wholesale market
- A high level of numeracy and computer literacy, including knowledge and understanding of Value at Risk, Earnings at Risk, Risk Measures, Stochastic Price Modelling, Volatility, Correlations , SAS, VBA
- Demonstrable experience of quantitative modelling techniques is required with the ability to create complex financial models and spreadsheets and to understand and interpret financial reports and accounts
- Experience of managing others
- Meticulous attention to detail and the highest levels of accuracy
- A can-do, flexible approach to working in partnership with the market facing teams to look at the optimal way to manage the risks they are facing
- Ability to influence and persuade others to change their behaviour
- An inquisitive, questioning mind, with the ability to deliver strategic conclusions from a complex web of data
Desirable Skills:
- Energy Risk Management experience
- Project Management experience
