The UK gas system is 5mcm long, according to npower’s daily market report.
That’s despite demand being 66mcm above seasonal normal levels.
Rodney Johnson from the Optimisation Desk said: “Temperatures are around 3°C below seasonal normal levels although latest forecasts show it will be warmer from the middle of next week.”
On the power system, demand is softer than yesterday.
Wind is generating below 3GW and solar is expected to reach the same level.
The French interconnector is set to flow 1GW into the UK later today.
Brent oil is trading at $49.09/bbl (£39.27/bbl) ahead of the OPEC meeting in Vienna today.
