The UK and China have agreed to work jointly to tackle climate change.

That’s what Prime Minister Theresa May and Chinese State Councillor Yang Jiechi agreed during a bilateral meeting on Tuesday.

Both countries aim to strengthen their “genuine strategic partnership in this golden era of bilateral relations”, a spokesperson of Downing Street said.

China aims to boost nuclear co-operation with the UK. China invested £6 billion in the Hinkley nuclear project in Somerset, which received its final approval from the government earlier this year.

Mrs May and Mr Yang also agreed to work together promoting enhanced trade and investment between the two countries.
