Veolia has applied for a water supply and sewerage licence, which would allow it to participate in the business retail market.

From April this year, more than 1.2 million businesses, charities and public sector organisations in England will be able to choose their supplier for water and wastewater retail services.

Ofwat said Veolia Water Retail (UK) submitted an application to provide water and sewerage retail services to customers across England and Wales.

Its customers will include those eligible who are located in the Tidworth area and supplied by Veolia Water Projects Limited, the regulator added.

Anyone who wishes to make representations or objections with respect to the application can contact Ofwat by 23rd January.
