SP Energy Networks has announced plans to invest £800 million in the next eight years.

It aims to maintain and improve the power network in North and Mid Wales and also focus on community safety initiatives.

The company manages around 9,605km of underground cables and more than 1,200km of overhead power lines that connect more than 375,000 homes and local businesses.

It also expects to employ 300 new staff over the next five years.

SP Energy Networks has also been announced as the new official sponsor of the Wales U20 squad side by the Welsh Rugby Union.
