A management consultancy firm has acquired an energy specialist in the field.

Consultus has bought out The Energy Architects as part of its planned expansion and diversification into new markets, which include the water, energy efficiency and sustainability sectors.

The terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Operating predominantly in the UK, The Energy Architects is a multidisciplinary energy business focused on consultancy, energy management, building services, procurement and utility connections.

The Energy Architects Founder and Director Malcolm Cooper said: “We’re delighted to become part of Consultus – we share a common philosophy and have also grown organically through our professional approach and reputation.

“This opportunity will allow us to move to the next level and expand on our services.”

Independent UK supplier OVO Energy has also recently announced it has bought a US smart grid start-up.
