Two organisations have joined forces to install rapid charging points for electric vehicles (EVs) in the UK.

ChargePoint has announced its entry into the European market after signing a supply deal with InstaVolt.

It will provide more than 200 charging points for installation at “popular routes” across the UK.

ChargePoint says EV owners can charge their vehicles in 15 minutes for “hundreds of miles of range”.

The network enables real-time monitoring of stations and delivers station analytics and reports on information such as station use and greenhouse gas emissions avoided.

Tim Payne, CEO at InstaVolt said: “ChargePoint will fulfil two important criteria for us: the charging units are future-proofed so the units can be configured to meet the precise requirements of any site and can be scaled incrementally as demand for higher rate charging increases. This is particularly important as EV manufacturers begin to bring out new models with increased battery capacity.

“We are committed to making sure the units are working 24/7 and so the reliability of the ChargePoint solution is one of the cornerstones of our offer.”
