The tallest turbines in Asia have been installed at a wind farm in Thailand.
The Sarahnlom wind farm in the Nahkon Ratchasima province in central Thailand consists of 33 turbines, with a total capacity of 67.5MW.
According to Siemens Gamesa, the turbines are equipped with 153-metre tall towers and 56-metre blades, reaching a total height of 210 metres.
The company will also be in charge of the plant’s operation and maintenance for the next 10 years.
The project is owned by Thai engineering firm Gunkul and is being developed by PowerChina ZhongNan.
Siemens Gamesa recently signed deals to provide 27 turbines for four onshore wind projects in Germany.
