Amec Foster Wheeler has secured two contracts worth £4 million from the firm that manages the UK’s lower level radioactive waste.

LLW Repository operates the UK’s Low Level Waste Repository in West Cumbria on behalf of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority and also oversees the management of lower activity waste throughout the country.

Amec Foster Wheeler has been appointed as the supplier for hydrogeological and geological support and one of four suppliers for general technical support.

It will also provide analytical and environmental monitoring support.

Balfour Beatty has been appointed as the preferred bidder for the Hinkley Point C nuclear tunnelling and marine works.
