The EU has approved the acquisition of a scrap metal processing and recycling business by a waste disposal firm.

TSR Recycling will be bought and solely controlled by Remondis, who currently jointly manage the company with Alfa Acciai S.p.A.

Both TSR Recycling and Remondis are based and operate from Germany.

They both belong to the Rethman Group and operate in a number of EU states and Australia.

The EU concluded the proposed deal would raise no competition concerns.

A UK firm has won a contract to recycle metal from the Sellafield nuclear decommissioning facility.
