Asda and Co-op have launched a joint initiative to enable suppliers to submit aggregated data on energy, water and waste to both retailers.

They are working with 2degrees to collect the sustainability data to drive supply chain efficiencies through working collaboratively.

Suppliers who serve both retailers can submit their data once, which is expected to eliminate the need for duplicated information and help them spend less money and time dealing with sustainability red tape.

Sarah Wakefield, Food Sustainability Manager at the Co-op added: “The Co-op is committed to a better way of doing business and we believe that collaborating on data collections means our supplier can focus on what matters most – making great quality products with the lowest environmental impact possible.”
