ScottishPower launches energy tariff for EVs

It offers renewable energy at a fixed price until June 2020

ScottishPower has launched its first energy tariff for householders with electric vehicles (EVs).

The ‘smart’ EV tariff offers 100% renewable energy and an app allows customers to locate their nearest charging point away from home.

The Big Six supplier said it is its “best high use tariff”, offering a good unit rate compared to the standing charge.

The tariff offers fixed prices until June 2020, with typical dual fuel cost of £841.12 for a lower user, £1,153.96 for a medium user and £1,545 for a high user.

Neil Clitheroe, CEO of Retail at ScottishPower said: “All analysis shows that the shift to electric vehicles will gather serious pace in the coming years and customers quite rightly expect bespoke services to support them in their journey to electric.

“Our growing focus on electric vehicle services and bespoke tariffs reflects the exciting changes in the energy retail market, as we modernise and digitise the hardware and software that supports our customers.”
