India’s Tata Power launches EV chargers in Hyderabad

They were installed for IT company Cognizant

Indian company Tata Power has launched charging points for electric vehicles (EVs) in the state of Hyderabad.

It installed the chargers for IT company Cognizant as part of its ‘Go Green’ programme for its employees.

It follows the launch of Tata Power’s first EV charging point in Mumbai, with nine chargers currently installed across various locations.

CEO and Managing Director Praveer Sinha said: “With the deployment of the fast charging EV stations in Hyderabad, we are happy to make the city more conducive towards a pollution-free environment. This is in line with our endeavour to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles across the country by providing the much-needed mobility infrastructure to support EV growth.”

Tata Motors has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Maharashtra to support its EV policy in accelerating the adoption of low carbon vehicles in the state.
