It is divesting its interest in the Sunrise oil sands project while buying a 35% interest in the Bay du Nord oil project from Cenovus Energy

The project will support Canada’s target of ensuring all passenger vehicles sold in the country are zero emission by 2035

The proposed Origins Project would be able to manage CO2 from hard-to-abate industries, such as cement, power generation and petrochemicals that exist along Alberta’s Highway 2 Corridor

The achievement follows the completion of the last of three planned coal to gas conversions at its Alberta Thermal power generation facilities

They claim it could produce more than 300,000 tonnes of clean hydrogen per year, reduce Alberta’s emissions by more than two million tonnes per year and help Canada in achieving net zero by 2050

The 25MW Canadian Hull solar plant, which is located in Southern Alberta, is expected to supply up to 50,000MWh of electricity annually under the 10-year contract
