A wind turbine company is considering building a windfarm next to the M40 in Oxfordshire.

Ecotricity would place nine turbines on a farm near Murcott. The wind turbines would be 259ft high and generate enough power for 5,600 homes.

Ecotricity operates 51 wind turbines at 15 windfarms in the UK, including windmills at Ford’s Dagenham plant – anyone driving a new Ford diesel car or van has an engine built entirely using wind energy – and Sainsbury’s cold store and distribution depot at East Kilbride, Glasgow.
