The London borough of Wandsworth expects to save 670 tonnes of CO2 a year following an upgrade of its communal heating systems to over 800 homes.

Energy management company AEC Environmental carried out the project, which was funded by EDF Energy through the Carbon Emissions Reduction Target (CERT) scheme.

Five district heating systems were examined, serving 835 homes, with 30% energy savings made once the work was completed.
