E.ON is offering its customers a free energy monitor as part of its Energy Fit Starter Pack, a scheme launched today to help householders get to grips with their electricity usage.

The pack can be requested by new or existing customers from today and includes an energy monitor worth around £45 and software for use with home PCs or laptops that allows users to track their energy over hours, days and weeks.

Jim Macdonald, commercial director of E.ON’s retail business, said: “This is the start of a journey that will help our customers become ‘energy fit’ by helping them understand how and where they’re using energy… because you can’t control what you can’t see.”

E.ON has already launched Business EnergyManager, a similar package to help companies cut their energy consumption.
