The luxury hotel in central London has made the savings by improving its kitchen extraction-fan system.

Engineering firm ABB installed two 11kW drives that control the air supply and the extraction in the kitchen using an intelligent system that will save the hotel over £10,000 a year and also reduce its carbon output by 50 tonnes.

Gary Busby, an engineer for ABB said: “Claridges will benefit from a considerable reduction in energy costs whilst making a contribution to cutting their C02 output – a legal requirement under the new Carbon Reduction Commitment Energy Efficiency Scheme.”
