Well 2010 has been a significant year whichever way you look at it, two terrible winters, the first coalition Government for 70 years, the rescue of 33 Chilean miners, Spain winning their first world cup, England losing the 2018 bid, Europe wins the Ryder cup, Anne Widdecombe leading us all a merry dance, oh and Energy Live News launched!

We do hope you have enjoyed reading our stories and watching our TV and since we started in May we’ve been amazed at the positive reaction we have received. Many thanks to all of you who have commented on our stories, said hello to our reporters and camera crews and given us feedback we really appreciate it. We aim to become the leading news service in energy and with your help and support we can do it.

Our ethos is to offer a fair and contemporary view of what is happening across the whole of energy. In my career I have covered all kinds of news and the energy sector is one of the most interesting and an endless source of all kinds of stories.

This year we’ve had the CRC, firm plans for a green bank, a vast commitment to energy investment during one of the toughest budget cuts in history and just last week the biggest shake up of the electricity market in a generation and there’s plenty more to come in 2011.

We’ll have the EMR completed in spring and an Energy White Paper by summer, a new Green Bank lending to the sector, we’ll know about new nuclear build with the completion of the generic design assessment and a Water White Paper just to name a few. And of course ELN will be there to cover it all.

We’re back on January 4th until then from all of the ELN team I wish you a Merry Xmas and a very Happy New Year!
