French firm Tereos are set to invest $475 million (£294 million) over the next four years into expanding their business in the Brazilian bioenergy market.

The company aims to expand their sugar processing capacity from 3.5 million tonnes to 24.5 million tonnes.

Tereos has procured the $475 million from the Brazilian Development Bank. In addition to the line of loans from BNDES, Azúcar Guarani has also received $120 million from Petrobras Biocombustibles.
