Oil & petroleum company Desire have found two new leads in the North Falkland Basin and say that the prospects for the rest of the Basin were “encouraging”.

The new leads, Beverley and Shona, were thrown up by Desire’s 3D seismic survey of around 1400 square kilometres.

Stephen Phipps, Chairman of the exploration company said: “We are pleased with the preliminary results from the new seismic data and feel that it highlights new prospectivity within our acreage. We anticipate the prospect inventory will continue to grow as the fully processed seismic data are delivered and interpreted.”
